Star Wars Animation

I was watching ROTJ (Return of the Jedi) and the original of this shot came up in the film and I thought I might be able to make a better go of it. The original is very contrasted, the planet flat looking and lacking detail. This also applies to the Death Star also.

Return of the Jedi Death Star 6 Second shot replacement. Lightwave animated planet, texture maps by me and animated 2D Death Star. Death Star augmented and edited in Photoshop from freely available imagery off the web. Composited together in AFX with gradients and a grain to match movie. HD 1920×1080.

First version you couldn’t clearly see it was Endor as there was no green to see on the Planet surface. The second version I think is better.
